Pretty soon, there will be few places in the world where one can escape the sweeping reach of Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie—it looks like an Asian expansion plan is in the works for the infamous clan’s beauty brand.
According to a recent report on Women’s Wear Daily, Kardashian business partner Farouk Shami, chairman of Farouk Systems, mentioned that a lucrative move into China is possible for the reality stars’ cosmetics line:
Shami’s confidence about the success of Kardashian Beauty in hair tools and styling products is due to the wide reach of the brand the Kardashians have built. Kardashian Beauty will straddle the professional salon and mass retail channels, and have a considerable international presence. Specifically, Shami mentioned that a deal with LG could spread Kardashian Beauty to Macau, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Japan and more.
He’s also confident that the East Asian market will prove to be highly profitable for the wealthy reality stars:
“There, you could talk about $500 million easily. They have their own stores. We are working on the marketing and sales there already,” he said.
While details are sparse and we have yet to see how successful they’ll be with branding and social media marketing in China, Kim’s affinity for selfies certainly can’t hurt when it comes to Chinese consumers.
